New article: Star Ocean 3 rant

Star Ocean 3, like any current JRPG really, is a sack full of different parts done by a huge team of people in different departments. Metaphorically speaking, a pair of blank DVDs moves along a conveyor belt for a number of years and every person along the way gets a chance to add a few bits (with a blow-torch, or a hammer). There is nothing inherently wrong with the procedure as long as there's a certain amount of oversight, to ensure the product takes the desired overall direction, with some consistency.
